so after dunking the v8 in a hole on the plains that was unexpectidly deep all the muddy water came in thru the engine bay and theres obviously some grommets missing at the rate it came in

it was missing on a couple of cylinders but managed to get it home
then i had no choice but to jetwash all the salisbury plain clay mud of the engine/rad this obviously made it worse, and was a bastid to get started, got home only half a mile doin about 10mph

so is it just the dizzy i need to remove and clean and dry?
or should i be looking elsewhere aswell, the ecu is on the dash out of the way

stoopid qs i know but its my first experience of the v8 and water

plugs leads dizzy cap. worth removing plugs disconnect leads and turn over a few times.

you need to dry everything as V8s dont sometimes agree with puddles.:D

Argh!... V8 in water, then issues...welcome to the club!

Yeah the dizzy is one thing if you got the ECU up out of the way.
I been modding mine to cope better with splashes....A can of aerosol carb/brake cleaner came in handy to aim at the ignition module on the side of the dizzy too. A large grommet was missing on the side body of the dizzy too, which didn't help either.

thanks need to make do untill i can afford the megasquirt.

Dont have a clue on what to do with it, but judging by the pic that must have been some proper fun!

A couple of mates went out on the plains on Sunday, but i couldnt make it as I had a bad back and bouncing around in the buckets seats in the 90 would probably just make it worse!
they said its quite muddy and water everywhere..... might go next weekend!
