V8 petrol transmission problems

Hi

I recently drove my v8 petrol discovery 2 threw a big puddle abit to fast forgetting my snorkel wasn't attached properly the engine was bogging but iv fixes that by replacing the spark plugs and air filter and the engine is running smooth again but it's not pulling like it should ,it's all noise and no speed it can hardly make it to 50 . The engine is running fine it seams to be a transmission problem . Can someone please help as it embarrassing that a puddle has killed it

Manual or auto?

Bent rod or damaged valve?

Did it seize with water being sucked in?

Auto and no the engine run fine it's somthing elts

Not changing up? Does it go through the gears if you select manually? Is the transmission brake releasing?

Got any fault codes ? I'd suspect the XYZ switch - but I'd also expect it to have spat its dummy out too....( and for you to have a fault showing )

I'd also consider having a compression test do to rule out engine damage. It may seem to run OK until it has to do some proper work as a mate found out after his cam belt went.

It's changes threw the gears just dosnt have any power tho get it threw the gear I can get it up to speed by yousing the cruise control but can only get to 50 off the throttle. The abs light hill decent and traction control light are on but they were already on

Sounds like your throttle position sensor is lacking some smoke - I.E. it has escaped. I'd be getting any faults read and going from there.
