Can anyone help I have towed our caravan to a site just the otherside of Ashbourne , set up jumped in the disco turned the key and have no electrics . Checked the fuses in the box next to the battery and the 60A fuse has blown . I have put the fuse from the heater which is a 60 A in and it blew straight away , is there any thing else I can do . Thanks

sounds like a short to me, have a butchers following the pos from the battery looking for damage or burnt bits

Sent out msgs to chezvegas, james6546 & time76. Waiting for response.
When does fuse blow, immediately? Ignition on? Or when yu hit start button?

Just got the message through, fraid I am home alone with the kids so won't be able to come out. If your still stuck tomorrow then let me know.
I have had problems on a previous disco 1 where the grommets had slipped that protect the cable from where it passes through the bulkhead chafing the insulation till it shorts out. Trace back the wire from the starter towards the ignition. Check where it goes through the bulkhead. (This is assuming it is blowing when you turn the key to position 3 to start)

Hi.

Erm, I don't know anything about electrics or discos so can't help.

If you need a tow or tools or anything I can help.

Which campsite are you at? I am at work from 6 until finish tonight, but if you need anything before that or tomorrow I will see what I can do.

James could be best bet as he is v local- just short for time.

I still have no contact details for OP.

Yeah, I can help out. Though going to work shortly so it will have to be tomorrow.

I'm guessing it is either Peak Gateway campsite which is near Osmaston, or Callow top. Peak gateway is about 5 mins from the farm so I am hoping it is that one!

Have we managed to get in touch with op yet ?

I don't know anything about electrics
Willing to drive over if any other assistance is needed, tow etc.

Will keep an eye on this thread for next few hours to see how things go.

Won't be able to assist tomorrow as I'm off to Dumfries in the morning

Hi all I'm at sk17 9sg shallow grange I keep losing signal , the starter motor has touched
The manifold and burnt out right back to the ignition , I'm sure it
Could be fixed but i don't know what I'm doing , any help will be much appreciated
I will sort. Fuel money etc . Thanks everyone

PM me your number so I can pass it on where necessary.

Are you talking about the small wire from the back of the starter? If it can be removed so it's not shorting the engine can be started temporarily by connecting from the spade on the starter to battery positive.

You'll just need a length of lecky cable about 1.5m long with a spade on one end

So is anyone able to grab a length of cable, a spade connector and head over?

Failing that a bump start?

If the faults as you describe then it won't short unless the ignition is turned all the way to the starter position.

MM do you need a fuse as well?
