Put our deposit down on a 110 XS on a 57 plate. It was advertised from a Landy dealer (main one) with 31k miles on it.

We've got the paperwork through and it states 35k. A few hundred miles is okay but 4000 is a bit much. We plan to get some knocked off the price or made up in accessories.

How much less do you reckon it's worth? Price is £20995.

Need to know sharpish if possible - Glasses only do "cars" so don't cover Defenders!!

It's actually nearer 37k miles - that's 6k more than advertised. Phoning a few other dealers. Seen some others that appeal. Might well demand the deposit back as this doesn't instill much confidence in them.

Did you not look at the actual mileage before agreeing to buy it? Like eightinavee says it's a clerical error and probably not some big plan to rip you off. All the parkers type valuations are bollocks anyway it's not possible to put a "book" price on a Landy there are too many variables.

We are buying it blind from 250 miles away - they are delivering it and picking up our car.

Worked fine with the BM.

We do want it -right colour, spec, etc but that's a BIG mileage difference - 20% more than advertised. They also aren't getting back to us.

walk away , give it a wide birth

My speedo/odometer over-reads by at least 10%, and I heard that's quite normal.
So who's to say what the exact mileage is?
Really, this isn't such a big deal.

If it was a big deal, we'd walk away but it isn't - just feel we are entitled to some extras FOC or a discounted price.

Well we would except they haven't called us back yet - we called them three hours ago and have chased several times - with a promise of a return call every time.

At the end of the day, if you was p/x ing a vehicle in and you stated that it had only done 31k miles, but had in fact done 37k, then they'd knock money off the valuation, so it has to work both ways.

Let us know how it works out fella and stick to your guns!

I agree.... If they dont throw in some MAJOR lubrication to the deal you are entitled to walk away I am sure. Trades description and all that!

Got £250 off. TBH we are already getting a lot thrown into the deal - free delivery from Croydon to Cornwall (picking up our Jimny in p/x), a years RFL which is freaking expensive and new rubber mats all round. It's definitely the best deal we've found so think we'll stick to it. Back to getting excited again and cheers for the advice all!
