changin the rear wheel bearing today due to it collapsing and the inner bearing inner race has welded itself onto my stub axel and after hitting, heating, cutting, and swearing at it its a no go soooooooooooooo.......am in desperate need of a stub axle without a ceased bearing race on it in the liverpool area asap.
if no one has one anyone know what they are new?
thanks.

smallest blade i have is an angle grinder with about a 5 inch disk on, dont reaaly want a damaged stub axle you see but if am after a new one i can only but try. you know how much the bearing set is by the way?

your a star YD! thattle do for me. you think my disco would make it to skem on 3 wheels? only kidding ill use the other car haha.
infact YD while your there when i was searching to see what the noise was before i confirmed it was the bearing i jacked up both sides and when i turn the o/s wheel the n/s wheels moves but when i turn the n/s wheel the o/s wheel dont............strange i know. any input?

but surly the diff has some lock and not just one wheel would spin? wouldnt have been the brake holding it as it would ahve been the collapsed bearing slob. am i right in saying that one shouldnt freely spin without turning the other as i was certain it wasnt an open diff?
thanks.

you'd need to count the number of turn the prop has aswell as the opposite wheel ah think, as any drag cause by ,well ,anything will cause some rotaion of the prop
.

yer the prop turns as does the n/s wheel when i turn the o/s wheels but when i turn the n/s wheels i know the o/s does not turn although i cant say i noticed the prop turning when i spun this wheel. so what your saying is that by turning the n/s wheel the o/s may not spin doe to it being dragged by the collapsed bearing but the prop should turn?
