Guys

Got my old one out had to cut it as even with 10mm single hex i can not get the bolts out the cross memebers.

I can not seem to wriggle the new pipe in from either side need about 4 foot under the truck and my jack does not go higher.

My question is does anyone knwo how to get it back in or if not is i safe to drive to a garage and get them to do it.

Will it damage the turbo without any pipe?

do you have some wood or somthing you can use to make jack go higher. you just need clearance. It's tight, but i did it with just a trolley jack and a few blocks of fence post.

sorry, just noticed the model in your sig. dont know if same applies to D2.

No, unfortunately it doesn't apply to D2.

I don't understand why the op is having such trouble getting the crossmembers off. If you're using a 'grips on faces' socket you shouldn't have a trouble at all, just need long levers?

Got single hex 10 deep socket as advised. Can undo some bolts and on others just turns. It's doing my head in and now itsstarted raining help please need some advice

Sorry, you posted just before me.

The threads are obviously shot. Knock em off with a cold chisel.

Del.

Either that Del, or the "captive" nuts are spinning. In either case you will need to replace with new nuts and bolts.

If you can get a ring spanner on the nuts you should be able to undo them, if you can't you might considor grinding them off, knocking out the captive nuts and replacing with new std nuts and bolts.

All sorted now guys thanks managed to do it without removing either corss memebr just a bigger jack and a few bits of wood to get the height and i had to grind off the hanger bracket onthe new de cat pipe and weld it back on once it place but its all done now and what a difference it maks to the drive ability of the truck.
