Can anyone help. My 2.5 petrol 90 will not go up hills with out kangarooing to a halt. I can restart it but not proceed with out spluttering and kangarooing to a halt. Thought it was low petrol or dirty tank. Everything stipped, flushed and refiltered, still doing it. Managed to get up the last hill in low ratio!! no problem This suggests that the engine will not pull under high load? Any ideas where to start looking. cheers

Try going up in a lower gear. If it stalls change down to 1st to pull away from stationary. Let us know how yer get on. ;)

Possibly the lift pump? If it's not in good order the engine won't get enough juice for hills. If it can accelerate well on the level I'd suspect the carb float instead.

Duz it go downhill OK? :p
I think it's just a rumour that the remaining Chuckle Brother is looking for a new partner.:)
I'm with zeaphod. Presume you've changed the filter. Years ago I had a car that started to do similar about 8 miles in to a journey. Found a small in line fuel filter that was dirty. Once chamber in carb was used up not enough fuel was getting through filter. Bigger demand on hillls might be causing similar problem.
