I have some small electrical components attached to my battery - located with the battery under the passenger seat. They are connected direct to the battery via a 15amp fuse. Out of the other end the wires go out through the bodywork under the car. I can't see where they go from there?!! Any idea what they might be for?

At the moment everything seems to be work on the vehicle, even though the in line 15 amp fuse has blown/ dropped out of the little plastic connector!! I have looked in the manuals etc and can't even find a 15 amp fuse on any diagrams, or any of those components at all

Hopefully the picture attached may help with ID.

I presume they're not vital. But then again...

Have you got work lights on the back of the landrover because it looks like a neater set up than Iv done on mine. If not you havent said what engine or how old your bus is.

Its a 300tdi defender csw (1996)

it does have an extra set of headlights lights on the front that come on with full beam. I'll just go out and see if they still work!!

split charge is a good guess - that TL072 chip is an op amp, there being a variable resister (to alter the swop over voltage) a couple of relays points to it being one - but the relays are fairly small so it'll just be a low current or top up type

Just been out to check and all lights come on as should do.

I was wondering if it is from a set that someone else may have put on the vehicle (and removed) before I got it. Originally, the vehicle was owned by AMEC - some big construction type company I think.

I just always presumed it was doing something, but when it broke, nothing seems to have gone.

Maybe I'll have to spend some time under the vehicle trying to work out where it goes

just noticed other posts - I do have 2 sets of electrics for tow bar (I only use one though)

I'll plug my trailer board into both sockets tomorrow and see what happens - thanks for help, what you say makes sense

anyone got a caravan I can borrow!!!!!!!!:D - That will be why I always use the same one!!! - The bloke I got it from said 'plug trailer in here and caravan here'. Now makes a sense. (sorry for being a bit thick:confused2:

I think it may have been a power supply for a two-way radio system

If you fit a CB radio, try wiring it to the output end of this device.

I reckon what it does is to stop the radio from flattening the main battery, by shutting the radio off at some pre-set voltage.

But I am only guessing ...

aye the same as the old 109 ffr's except they used bout fourty cables and were a right mess ! seemed to work tho,

if it has an acr alternator will not need a voltage regulator ! unless like said , id part of a sptil load/ charge system. winch / spot (or work ) lights

secondly the 7 pin trailer socket will only fit one plug , the secondary ( usualy a white cap) will have 12 pin fer new type caravans,
with a constant feed / perm live for fridges atc.

but likes yer say if everything works and yer dont tow a shed round of a bank holiday , dont worry bout it !
