Hi all, ive been looking to underseal my D2 asap but im planning through what i will need and how it'll get done. My problem is, what is the best way to get the truck high enough to be able to do some proper work underneath cleaning it, and what is the best way to properly clean it once its up. I know that steam cleaning is the best way, but renting them for the day looks like 150 quid or so. I have a decent pressure washer, and live on a farm with associated equipment, concrete floored barns etc.
I plan to use a Dinitrol kit from somewhere like Rejel, but dont think pressure washing what i can with it on jack stands will cut it... Any thoughts? I hope this will help the next DIY undersealer too, cheers
Ryan :)

However you decide to do it. Cover the floor space beneath with flattened cardboard boxes. Use an old pair of boots and overalls that you're happy to bin when the jobs done and do not, absolutely do not, enter your kitchen to make a coffee during the process.

Oh and do not plan on taking your missus to any nice places for a few days, while the stuff wears off your hands and face...........

Cheers

Never tried it, but read ages ago a good thing to do first is to put a water sprinkler under it. I think the ones that arch over by 180 degrees are best , rather than the 360 degree spinning ones. Either would do though, I would have thought.

I like that idea, could possibly run some chemical through it maybe too, although theyre not too powerful but long enough should give it a good rinse of any nasty stuff if i degrease the life out of it before hand, its just getting it high enough then

Don't use underseal use waxoil.

Don't use underseal use waxoil.
Or as Ryan plans to use, Dinitrol or Bilt Hamber which apparently is even better.
Yeah i bought the underseal ages ago for some reason but i'll be getting a dinitrol kit from rejel i think, only heard great things, all vids ive seen use it and the company is only 30 mins away from me, dont wanna go to the effort of doing it then it not be any good! 125 quid or so for a full kit from Rejel including internals, converter i think the seal the lot and attachments, loads of cans of the stuff too... Cant be too bad, getting it done can cost 500 quid professionally

Yes, I bought a Dinitrol "kit" from them on "the bay" plus some extra underbody seal, internal and cleaner for £170. The kit also included a spray gun, the long tube for doing the internal stuff and little plugs to cover any holes drilled to get the stuff in.
Handed it all over to my local garage and they did the work for me and returned the spray gun and the small amount left over. Charged me for four hours work.
