Evening all,

I'm just wondering if anyone has sprayed their landy with U-Pol's Raptor coating? I've seen a few coated in the stuff at shows and bit the bullet and bought a kit.

I've got a general idea on how to use it (key up surface, prime bare metal, 2 coats an hour apart), but I don't know what sort of paint to use for the tintable version. Is it just standard 2 pack paint that I need to mix it with?

Any other advice on how to use the product would be greatly appreciated.

Ive not used the tintable but have a look at Buzzweld.

When you paint prep is key! Make sure its spotlessly clean and properly degreased or it can come away after a while.

You can recoat as soon as its fully touch dry. Be aware once its on it is a nightmare to remove!

I’ve already got myself some timetable raptor and was hoping to spray it in the cattle shed this weekend, but I’ll check out Buzzweld.

Speaking of Buzzweld, have you used any of their LizardSkin range? Since my disco has been off the road I have stripped out all of the carpets and I’m just wondering if this will make things noisy in the cab; if so whether the LizardSkin sound control would make a difference?

Great, cheers mate! It says solvent based and mentions 2k so that’s standard 2pack (I think). I’ll pick up a couple of litres and just give it a go, I can always respray over it if it goes badly :D

I thought standard 2 pack was Acrylic ?? plus you get 2k epoxy & 2k isocyanate !!

I’ve no idea to be honest, I don’t know a lot about it all. I might head down to my local sprayers and ask them about it. The U-Pol chap told me to use a “solvent based paint dye” to tint it with

LizardSkin is fantastic. Better than Dynamat imo (cheaper too if doing a lot), if you check thread from Nov last year youll see my doing all the LS work.

Raptor is urethane based paint you need urethane base tint as in my first post buddy ;)

My bad I’m trying to get my head round it all, all these different types of paint are confusing

So if I go to my sprayers and ask them to order or mix me some urethane based paint in my chosen colour with the bs code they’ll know what I mean?
