Hi, Just wondering if anyone knows the maximum size tyres i can get on my 90 with out a lift kit?? i have the standard white steel wheels which i like i just want some chunky tyres. i think my steels are 15"..... can anyone help??:)

Hi, If you have the standard 90 wheels then they should be 16 inch diameter ones. You need to check the width too. Somewhere on the wheel rim should be stamped the diameter and the width, described as a J rating,ie: 16 x 7 J or something similar. Older 90 rims are quite narrow so restrict tyre size choice. Once you have the rim size then talk to a 4x4 tyre specialist about tyre sizes.
I've got 235/85 x 16's on my 90 and they are fine. 265/75 x 16's should fit without too much trouble on some rims. Don't forget to adjust steering stops to prevent tyre rub on the radius arms on full lock, and lastly, remember that if the tyres are too large your speedo will read wrong and need calibrating.

Hope this helps

Also be aware of increased body roll whilst on road as the extra height increases the weight transfer due to higher center of gravity..

what are your tauts on those spacers that lift the body..these would keep the chassis lower reducing the roll effect..the new landy's have 85 profile tyres as OE...but oh for a set of pro-comps on mach rims mmmmmmmm..and portal axles arrrrrrrr

32" tyres. that should be about max if you also need to consider not rubbing the radius arms or chassis. just adjust the steering stop and you'll be fine. so assuming yr rims will take the largest are 265/85/16. but you have steel rims of 15", hmm, maybe they might not be able to accomodate such 'fat' tyres.

I was running 33" tyres on my standard height vehicle and they worked fine. should be able to get 35" now I have raised it 2" with an old man emu lift kit.

Thatnks All for your help! I managed to change rims and wheels, with a small adjustment on the steering stops i now how a set of 33x12.5r15 on a standard 90!!! Looks the mutts nuts
