Hi All.

Well. soon after I got my l322 (2005V8Petrol), a few years ago, I changed the wheels to 18" and put General Grabbers on.

Now then, off orad they have been fine but I do find on road is not that great.

I am now considering going back to the original 20" wheels and considering what tyres to put on.
it's going to do some motorway miles and towing a car trailer so they need to be good ones.
Any thoughts recommendations on tyres or suppliers?

cheers.

Thanks gents I will have a look.

I am based in the midlands. If I could see how to update my profile I would put it in there also.

thanks.

255/50/20 Pirelli scorpion zeros are the only boots my l322 wears excellent all rounders imo. theres plenty of other brands but that's my choice & ive tried/sold/seen/fitted them all.
I'm 10k miles into mine and they are great with loads of tread, floating on air on the motorway and don't mind a bit of mud, although i haven't really tested them off road to any extreme. They are factory fit i believe on some of the later Range Rovers and I have seen them perform well off road straight out of the box.

Wil I think I remember you saying this some years ago when I got it, before I decided to put more off road wheels and tyres on.
many thanks.
I'll do a trawl for prices
thanks gents.

I've heard rumours that tyre tread patterns have fashions and the last season's fashion can be had at cheaper prices if you can find them. Not sure how true that is. Sounds like madness to me.

Will, what do you reckon is best on the P38? Same tyre?

true I can buy/offered tyres from one supplier which are new but 2/3 even 4 years old for basically half price they have just sat in a warehouse old stock. what size on your p38 16,18, 20,22 ? for 16 &18 ive sold plenty of altenzo sports navigators & nexens both good tyres for the money

Not in the market for tyres at the moment but you seem to have a lot of experience so I was interested in your opinion. I'll bear you in mind when I need them and I am heading up the M6.

Currently I'm running a mix. The summer ones on the car at the moment are 18" Nexens. I've got a winter set on 16" rims but they're a mix of Grabber snow and some sort of Pirelli snow. I've another set of 18" rims but cannot remember what is on them. They're pretty much shot anyway. I did have another set of 18" Vredstein snow but they were very noisy so I flogged them.

wil.
i am now ready for a set of Pirelli tyres for the RR
255/60 20.
The problem is they offer a few in this size.. Can you recommend which I should go for?
It needs to be great as a winter car. so need max wet/snow traction and quiet.....

your view is greatly appreciated.

many thanks.

you need 255-50-20;), scorpion zero m+s are personally my choice:) your going to struggle to find snow traction with low db the only one i recomend then is cooper tires,(usa) available here ive sold plenty, john craddock sells them also, .remember to rotate them every say 6 months or 6000 miles for maximum life oh & get some nitrogen in them ;)
