sorry in advance. i have searched but all the threads say 'ffs do a search' :D
bought some maxxis buckshots 33x12.5 R15 (measure 32"). will these be ok to fit on 8 spoke wellers? currently i have 265/70 R15 (measure 29")with no problems at all.
apart from tweeking the steering stops am i likely to need to cut metal? i have no lift. just want a heads up really.

sorry again. i bet the first 3 replies say 'ffs do a search!'
:p

Iv been trying to find out if 33x12.50 will fit on a standard 90 , but didn't what to ask on here for all the **** you get for tyre questions.
I will follow with intrest.

But we give everybody **** for asking any question, sometimes though you do get a good answer - just depends what mood people are in, and if anybody knows the answer!

Depends on rim size as to whether they'll fit on the 8-spokes. If they're 7j I'd say yes they'll fit, but likely to roll off the rims when you hit the rough stuff .. far better to get wider rims to suit, 10j would be better. I run 31x10.5 on 8j rims and wouldn't use my rims for 12" wide or above.

Unlikely to need metal cutting on a Defender as the wider rims also have a greater offset to accommodate the wider tyres, and even the lock stops are a suck it and see ... ;)

I'm running, Maxxis Bighorns 255/85 R16 on modulars, Standard set up on my 110. They sit at 33.3 and have not had any problems.

thanks a lot guys. appreciated very much. my steels are 7inch wide which i understand is not ideal. but money is tight so they will have to do for now and i will keep my eyes peeled for some secondhand 8 or 10" modulars. unless someone ocal wants to swap for 10.5" wide?
getting them fitted tomorrow so i'll let you know how i get on.
and just because you were all so nice. heres a pic. we all love pics!

so its done! the wheels are too skinny really but will be ok till i can afford to buy some more. 10 inch is the way forward.they catch on the arms a bit so i need to adjust steering stops, but apart from that there appear to be no issues with them catching bodywork. so once again, a 2 inch lift doesn't seem that necessary.

humour- the wheels are clean and the lr plastered-so either you got covered in mud and cleaned only the wheels and left the mud.

Or it is spray mud.

I run 33x12.5 R15's on my landy, but i run them on 10" rim's. I dont think they would feel safe on any thing smaller.
Look at this pic....tyre on the left is on a 7"rim, tyre on the right is on a 10" rim......see what im getting at.

my bad! the last bit n the road must have blown it all off!

10 inch wheels are going to be a must. but at £150 i can't afford them right now. maybe next month. it does wobble around a bit!
