Just wondering.

I have a re-mapped ECU in my late 300tdi auto. Just out of curiosity does anyone know if I can plug in a tunit unit.

I have spoken to tunit who assure me that the box will continue where my re-mapp left off. I.e plus BHP and Torque in addition to the re-map increase.

Any thoughts ?

I'm also planning on fitting a twisted performance stainless exhaust, I've done the intercooler already.

Thanks in advance

I have no preference or bias to Tunit but they would say that wouldn't they. Just think about it for 1 sec. What does remapping do? If your not happy with the original remapping then remove it or have it remapped to fit your driving needs. DEFINATELY do not try to modify the modified. The main reason for having the ECU remapped is because it's far more reliable than any bolt on unit. Bolt on units suffer from electrical interferences due to movement in connectors and poor screening whereas ECU upgrades are hard soldered.

I'm having my 300tdi tweaked next week by Allisport who will be fitting their direct replacement intercooler, EGR blank and hoses, ITG air filter, new downpipe without Cat, and hardwire ECU upgrade. It won't compare to other cars I've had but it will make pulling my caravan far less stressfull. I may fit the Janspeed SS exhaust but I don't believe it will make that much extra difference as removing the Cat is the most important improvement. Allisport downpipe is £50. Janspeed £351.

If you want that extra bit of grunt Allisport do a LPG upgrade giving a further HP boost. I'm considering fitting a little known product called Browns Gas after my tweak. If your interested follow this link: http://www.eagle-research.com/
