Does anyone know what i could do to make my tratter less dangerous to people with respitory disease and the ozone? Special filters or somthing else? There's a few people in particular who go past my drive when I'm leaving for work who put scarfs over their gobs as I set off.

Sell the defender and buy an electric vehicle, or walk.

Reasonale question. Someone might have invented something that I dint know about, like a special filter in the exhaust or something. Do you think if I cut a circle shape out of a miele hepa filter and fitted it in my exhaust, that might work?

Yes, until it clogs up and either catches fire or stops the engine from starting. Diesels smoke a bit, especially on a chilly morning when first starting. Either live with it or get a petrol.

If it bugs you then I’d sell up.
I personally have lived a life giving a toss about other people and it’s never got me anywhere therefore now I just care about what makes me happy. Soooo politely run them over and they will never walk past your house again.

If it's a properly tuned engine, not one that has to be 'adjusted' by an expensive eletrickery bit that plugs in, then the emissions are extremely low!
Mine is a 1989 NA and the exhaust chucks out between 40% and 50% LESS than most on the 'greener' cars in for their first MoT.
Tuning skills are very few and far between nowadays!!

I'm not massively fussed. I just wondered. My lungs get a fair whack when I've just started it up and I'm loading the dogs.

If the engine is in good condition, serviced properly and the MoT raised no issues with the emissions, I really wouldnt be bothered by what others do or say when you use it. Let them cover their faces. They’ll find the local public transport causes more pollution than your Landy.

If you are really concerned about public opinion, get a hybrid thing or use public transport, cycle to work, etc and keep the Landy for weekend use.
