Got a trailer with braked axle but the suspension has seized, its that indispension type

tried a ton on it but no joy:)

Loads of fresh grease and pressure on and off not just a sudden shock load and maybe a bit of heat?

Hum don't know then. The only arm type ones like the indespension ones I used before were greased. Granted they were quite large ones for a trailer that weighed 3.5t. WD40? Lol

These are rubber inside a tube and are seized, probably due to rust on the inside of the tubes
Think I'll turn it on its back and use the WD40 and a bar to try and free them off.
Pity cause its a good trailer with brakes, handbrake new jocky wheel etc

Yeah time and WD or a good penetrating oil. Apply try and move leave for a few hours and repeat.

Good lube up, tyres to max pressure, then load it up to near max weight (use a 'solid' weight rather than a vehicle with suspension), go find a bumpy road and try to rattle it free.

Had it full of stone so well over a ton and drove it about twenty miles but not freed up at all:rolleyes:

It's possible the rubber inside the suspension unit has hardened with age and is fubar unfortunately.
Is it in a compressed state as if it has sat for a long time with a heavy load on it?

^^^^^This.
I have a boat trailer on which the rubber in the units had gone absolutely rock hard. When i replaced them due to corrosion on the tubes I cut one open out of curiosity & the rubber had no 'give' left at all.
The new units have made a considerable difference. (From Trailer Tek, decent prices & free delivery)
