Fitting the Freelander 2 trailer electrics kit requires removal of plastic trim on the rear cross member below the tailgate. It is obviously held down by clips but how do I get at them to release them? I don't want to simply pull the trim up because that is likely to damage it. I do not trust the dealer - it could not even fit a number plate without damaging it!
