When towing my pops has the indicator noise but the trailer light on the dash dont light up. Is this right? I was under the impression you needed a signal but not both but the hand book sez youll have the light. He uses thes new fangled 13 pin sockets too.

Check he has the correct uprated flasher unit which comes with the towing kit.

Check what happens when you switch on the hazards when connected to the trailer / caravan. The standard unit cannot cope with that load.

The standard European 13pin connection (which has been around for the last 20 years or so) should make no difference to this.

Like on the FL1 the trailer warning lamp should only flash once if no trailer is coupled up - that is the bulb-check feature. If everything else is OK it just could be the warning lamp has failed.

SV.

If its a FL2. Then its done through CJB update, not a relay replacement.

The CJB turns on the light on the ipk when it sense electrics connected. You know its correctly sensing if it disables the rear PDC and rear fog.

The system wont detect if your using LED towing electrics, or if it hasnt been programmed.

Yep gaylander 2.
Wots cjb and pdc? Not led system

CJB is your Central Junction Box. Its also known as PJB (Passenger Junction Box) or BCM (Body Control Module). It requires reconfiguring to tell it, its going towing electrics. This is requires as when you fit towing electrics to a FL2, you install a trailer module behind the n/s/r quarter panel. You need to tell the CJB to communicate with it. If non-genuine towing electrics are fitted, then this can vary in compatibility. It depends how functional the module fitted is in simulating the geniune Trailer Module.

The PDC is just Park Distance Control. Tis the bleeping you might get when reversing into walls if fitted.
