hi everyone I'm looking at getting a Universal Coupling Ball and Pin 3.5tonne from paddocks and I was wondering weather to fix it directly onto my rear cross member or get get a dropplate instead as I'll only intend on using it if/when I get stuck or rescuing others. Thanks in advance

I don't have a trailer or plan on getting one anytime soon either as I'm limited to towing 750kgs because of my license so seems pointless

If you bolt it straight to the X member try and fit a universal drop plate at the back of the X member it will stop the nuts / bolt heads from being pulled through the X member when snatching or being snatched, and if used for towing the closer the ball is to the X member the less weight is lost from the front of the tow vehicle but that depends if the hitch on the trailer and ball are set at the same hight if you know what I mean and may need a drop plate ;)
