Anything but a high lift. It's a great bit ok kit for certain jobs, but you can't change a wheel using one:eek:Very dangerous unless you've been shown how to use it.

A bottle jack is the best bet. Still don't go under the vehicle without other support, but IMHO the best all round, and fairly cheap.

It depends on when and where you might use it.
If it's to be carried in the vehicle for general vehicle emergencies such as a roadside wheel change then a bottle jack, probably about 2 ton.
If it's for general garage work then a trolley jack would probably be better.

I still say trolley jack as its easy to chuck it underneath and (in my opinion) provides a much more stable base.
A bottle jack is the lighter, less expensive option however.
