Hi Chaps

I am also looking at getting my windows tinted. I am curious as to how this is done and what i can expect it to cost me.

Would this be done at a LR dealer or a specialist?

Does it affect the light coming into the car?

My TD5 is metallic black so i reckon it would look really good but am reluctant to do it if it looks shi*e.

Cheers

I want to get my new(ish) TD5 done too, but am also concerned it might look to chav/bling.
Windows are kinda tinted already though, my local tinter will tint one window for testing. For a cost, and then you can live with it for a bit to see what it feels like.
If I don't get the whole car done I will get the rear boot area done as this protects the dogs and the luggage from tea-leaves.
Post pics if/when you get yours done though eh?!

For what its worth, as a youngster i was a bit of a terror, and to put it bluntly i used to make a living from stealing cars and from them.
You can slate me but i have tried to make amends during my adult years, so i will offer a little bit of "insider" opinion, if you dont mind.

Firstly, i like tinted windows, but wouldn't have mine done, certainly not as dark as possible. Why? Because if I WAS STILL a silly kid (im 37 now) who did what i did i had rules to select vehicles.

Firstly, age of vehicle. If its anything worth good money it went in its favour to be hit, secondly tinted windows, whats inside? Why would someone with a motor worth 15k plus wanna hide something.
Id be more inclined to go for a decent motor with tints than something i could see had nothing inside it, worth 2k.
Just thought that might help the balance a bit gents.

Oh another tip. Stickers.

Have a look at what some people advertise on their cars, member of this member of that, then black the windows out. Its an open invite at times to a thief to see if you can strike lucky.

i wanted my disco done but recently drove a 200 disco with tints on my works carpark which is unlit had to back the the 200 out .

could not see a thing !

guess wot !

getting no tints:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Old thread but my bit...

I was quoted, last year around £50 per window..7 main windows = £350!!
Though tinting the front 2 anything more than tea tint is illegal in the UK (Insurance will be void in event of an accident).

Seemed pricey to me and never bothered..but that was just 1 company.
