timing belt

hi there; picked up my first landy last week and what a delight it has been its a 1993 2.5tdi hard top and all i can say that it is super smashing great so much so iam trying to talk the wife round to buying one,(STATION WAGON) that is. can anyone tell me when the timing belt should be changed there is 69000m on her and how much it should cost or if i you could tackle it yourself

Hi there del boy. Timing Belts hmmmmm all i can say to that is have a look at the "200 tdi timing belt" write up. I didn't get mine done and lived to regret it.. Luckily im quite handy with a toolbox so i did it myself, otherwise i would have been looking at about £1200 to sort it out!!!!! So my advise would be spend your cash wisely and get it done anyway!!! Best of luck..
