Have searched and found several very helpful tips, etc but can anyone give the supposed hours that it should take to do a belt change on a 300tdi i.e. what the book says?

I phoned the main dealer - 4 to 5 hours which is what I thought really, but at £120 an hour plus the kit it won't be going there. Better rake out the old Whitworths then.....

The belt on a 300 is a lot easier than the 200 as you don't have to remove the water pump.
I agree with 4-5 hours.
