Sport Time to polish

Helping a mate out who bought a sport it needs a bit of paint correction with my polisher

@biketeacherdave what did you use. I've found a few light scratches on the bonnet of the Golden Girl. No idea where they've come from, but they need to go.

I use a rotary polisher with g3 scratch remover 1st which takes out pretty much all and any scratches then change the pad over and use mcquires ultimate compound then ultimate polish
G3 needs a white pad
Compound needs a red pad
Polish needs a red or blue is better
I finish with meguies wax applied by hand with a special pad

Thanks @biketeacherdave and @Dopey . I've got the G3 but need a buffer. I normally use Autoglym , used to use Mer. I have Williams for quick wipes , when the seagulls have had a quick visit. However, yours looked really impressive Dave.
Not seen Meguiars before. Yours is amazing too Dopey. If you can both get that on a difficult colour like blue. The gold should come up great. I've never used an electric buffer before, but the time has come.
I've got a lot going on the next few weeks but first free, sunny, day, those scratches are gone

I don't use a buffer... just elbow grease, and that way you dont need a long lead lol

+1 for " Meguiars ultimate compound "

Recently used it on my Chimaera, was brilliant, very impressed. Used an old turtle wax polish after which did a very nice job, but will be sure to purchase the Meguiars ultimate polish. I don't use machines, just microfibre clothes.

You P38 has come up lovely, surprising what a bit of elbow grease and a good product can do

Standard buffers work well with the right products, Autoglym Super resin is just a mid abrasive full of fillers that mask scratches.
For example..
when the fillers wear off the scratches reappear.

Meguires Ultimate compound is great on Paintwork that needs a good correction, followed by a wax of your choice, Collinite 476s works well as it's hard wearing








Light blue is a nightmare to pic properly

Collinite 476 is a good winter wax, very hard wearing

I don't do elbow grease any more. I'm sure there are battery powered buffers.

And buy a couple of white.red and blue sponges to go with it

Be very careful with machine polishing ,if you dont know what you are doing, you can ruin your paintwork very easily.

The trick is, keep product on it, and keep it moving, you dont want to heat the paint up at all, keep it as cool as you can

and keep the speedon a low setting.. higher setting generates more heat and dries the medium out and heats the paint up
