Hi
I have a Land Rover Discovery 1996 V8 es With an LPG Conversion.
Late last year it developed a problem; a slight misfire when accelerating at approx 60 mph.
The first thing that was done was to replace the Throttle Position Sensor. This fixed the problem for approx 200 miles.
I then went down the path of various garages mostly non Land Rover and replaced many more parts including LPG full service (it misfired on both petrol and LPG), new plugs / leads, distributor and cap, air mass sensor, both front lamda sensors, coil, coil amplifier and the list goes on.
Non of this worked.
I was then introduced to a private Land Rover garage very highly recommended and to be fair they have tried very hard to fix.
They firstly diagnosed with the computer a faulty TPS. So we changed it again, they tuned everything and all was well for approx another 200 mile.
Then same fault appears different part of rev range but basically the same problem.
On returning to same garage, again the computer says TPS replace yet again and given the use of a new ECU.
All is fine for about 800 miles but now its all happening again and we are all stumped.
All Original Land rover parts no chinese stuff.
The only noticable thing is it seems to break when the weather is hot (but this could just be a coincidence) and the LPG engine does run very hot normally but this could just be a coincidence.
The car lasted 800 mile over winter all the other times were in summer.
Any body got any ideas?
Billy
