Thinking of selling my Defender which I have fully rebuilt with Galv Chassis.
But only thing I didn't do was Paint it, Now I know I could give it a decent paint job and stick a set of alloys on and almost double the price, but would just be happy to get a fair price the way it is. Selling it this way gives the buyer a chance to paint what colour they choose and save a lot of cash.. Plus if I do paint it will probably want to keep it.
Reason Im selling is I am starting another Rebuild so could do with some funds for that and really cant justify having 2. This is how it is now. but if someone looked underneath it looks great.
Anyway its had practically a full nut and bolt build, everything underneath Brand New. be a good decent landy for someone looking for one that does not need any welding or others things to get it right like most for sale now.
Should I Paint or Not ?.

If you do sell, I’d give it a resprayed and a nice set of new wheels, like wolf rims. The galvanised bumper and aftermarket grille and light surrounds will set it off nicely. Perhaps even a set of upgraded seats and a Td5 dash pod might get more still. You’ve put the money and work in, why not get the most back. The prices that Defenders are commanding at the moment means you could get a good return on it.

I really enjoyed the first one, so will enjoy the second too, just could do with funds to start the second, learnt a lot from the first so this one should be better.

Ned to get some cash in ,not spend more , but I know what you mean could tart it up a bit to look like a show truck and get a lot more then its worth,. People are paying far to much for really bad ones at the moment, someones gonna hit lucky if they buy this one.

Not being rude but to a non land rover owner that would look terrible as is!
Paint it all day long, even if you only just get the money back for the paint job, it will sell way easier than as is.

Looks more junk yard bitsa than panel character id paint in this circumstance. Even a brush finish or rattle can would increase its appeal, respray if you have the kit/cash as it probably deserves it after all the work you’ve put in and will be worth a pretty penny afterward

Think everyone's right it should be painted, even if I get the money for paint job back, gonna ask a mate if he will do it then pay him when it sells :)
Or as Rangeroler dt suggested might get the roller and brush out and have a go myself.

I do not have a clue about coverage when spraying paint, but for brush/roller application of household gloss or emulsion you get around 12 to 15 m2 per litre on a smooth flat surface. I would budget for half of that, and that is per coat BTW.
