Maybe in a saloon car with very good soundproofing - you cant really say its at home in a Range Rover.tis a fine engine 8in v.

I must be wrong then ! There are 2 satisfied owners,odd both of them have seen fit to have performance upgrades.
Lets face it out of the box the engine is just not up to the job of powering a heavy 4wd which is expected to tow heavy loads aswell.Cracked heads or rods out of the side seem common for them if worked hard.Thats if the head gasket stays put or the water pump does not fall apart first.
Shame BMW got involved with LR,if it had been Honda or Toyota I suspect it may have been a different picture now.
