As title says.....

Has anyone tried one of these plates. I thought they may help with manifold warp. They resist thermal transfer between the head and manifold lowering EGT.

Thermal Inlet Gasket - Ferriday Engineering

I know the link says inlet manifold, but they are available for both inlet and exhaust. Just send a gasket to them and they make them up to suit.

Waste of money on the exhaust side as the exhaust gasses are what heats up the manifold and not heat transfer from the head which is a lot cooler.

Can see how it might have an effect on the inlet side but even then you have cool(ish) air flowing through the manifold all the time so overheating the inlet manifold is not a big problem.

Could even make things worse. The head, after all, is water cooled, so you'll usually get heat moving from the exhaust manifold casting back towards the head. So you don't want to interrupt that or your manifold and turbo will start getting very warm indeed. Just think about all those pictures of engines being bench tested, where the exhaust glows red. The bit immediately next door to the engine usually doesn't glow because the heat is getting shifted by the coolant.
