Ever since I have had this beautiful car I have been plagued with an intermittent fault which has prevented me from using low range. I was convinced it was the ECU, I checked all the connections, etc, etc but to no avail.
Before laying out any money on a replacement I thought I'd just spend time going through the wiring diagrams on Rave and then identify and test some individual wires. All set with sheafs of notes and a circuit tester, I advanced only find a simple loose earth wire! Just easing itself out of the connector block to the ECU and barely visible.
Note to self: "check the connections" actually means painstakingly go through each individual wire and connection and check for tightness and cleanliness; second rate workmanship will not achieve the desired result. These P38's can be rather fussy can't they?
