Hello Pals.

Last year got a advise at MOT for corroded brake drums?? There was nothing else they could find I think.
The young Gent, that had just started to shave informed me of this dilemma and Danger to the Public.

I got an advisory 3 years ago for the same thing. I purchased some new ones but never got round to fitting them. It has never been mentioned in any test since that one time and always at the same testing station.
My drums must be self repairing ones. :D
 
Most MOT testers put something down, even if it's daft. Something to help them avoid scrutiny from the ministry?;).
MoTs are so much in the hands of the tester - if you turn up for one and there's a young lad there instead of the usual old boy, you're almost better off turning round and going home. I've had so many failures for stupid things that have been there for years, like a slightly cracked numberplate or a slight staining from draining the diesel water separator called a 'diesel leak'. Bloody nuisance.

The favourite of all testers is, of course, headlight aim.
 
my local tester is pretty lax ive never seen them test head lights yet, except that they come on and you never fail on emissions

Yes, I have a good tester now. Friendly old boy who's more interested in saying hello to my dog. He knows I like to fiddle with Land Rovers so if something's a bit iffy he'll point it out and knows I'll get straight on it.

A nice little oasis of gentlemanly honour in a world of tick-box paperwork!
 
I don't care what they put down as advisories as long as it passes. I never do anything to the advisories and they often don't crop up again but different ones do.
