Does anyone here know if Testbook can reset or allow you to choose which lights flash when locking or unlocking a P38 off the fob? None of the lights flash when doing so although everything locks/ unlocks/ superlocks etc. Or would it have to be the main dealer's machine?

While I am on kind of on the subject does anyone here use an ELM327 device for fault codes - how effective is it, does it just give the codes or can it re-set them as well once probs are rectified?

Not sure about Testbook, but yes you can with a Faultmate, so I should imagine its possible with a testbook. Yes you can use an Elm to read and re-set engine codes on a P38, but thats about it. No HEVAC, Suspension, Airbags or owt else.

Thanks, think I'll delete the Elm off the ebay list for the mo. Local garage here has Testbook and couldn't find the bit about which lights so looks like I'll have to find a Faultmate operator....

The Testbook offers 3 selectable options for the BeCM
Fog lights fitted (Yes or No)
Sunroof Fitted (Yes or no)
Trip computer Fitted (Yes or No)
If you are fitting a new BeCM you can than also pre select a country which affect a lot of things on masse

But that's it !!!

An ELM 327 will have never even heard of a BeCM
By comparison the Faultmate spoils its owners with a dazzling array of 40 plus settings for the BeCM including options for notification on arm and dis arm events.

So as you surmise, you just need to buy one or find someone with one to configure your BeCM as you wish. ;)
