wasn't trying to put him off, just pointing him at some info that might help him change his mind, but what usually happens is peeps ask the same question and despite seeing evidence which indicates it might not be the best choice of vehicle they buy it anyway

We have a TD4 just coming up to 100000 miles. We've had it from new and it is the most reliable car we have ever had.
