Series 2 Temperature sender

Good evening

I have a 1964 series 2a petrol and the temperature gauge doesn't work can some one tell me where the temperature sender is as I though I would start with that.

Just run a cable from the sender to the back of the gauge first to see if its not a cable issue. Mine was and traced it to a dodgy connection making an intermittent contact. Replaced the section of cable and all fine now.

I have had a look at the back of the gauge this evening and it is not wired in can any one give me instructions on how to do this.

Has the wire simply come off, in which case just put it back on, or has it been taken off, in which case ask yourself why.

The gauge has no wires going to it at all the petrol gauge works
