2.5 fitted into a series 3, runs beautifully smooth however gauge reads 3/4s up on the temperature between n and the red with light driving, going on the dual carriageway at 50 makes it go to under 3mm of the red. I dont believe its running this hot comparing it to my friends 2.25 diesel which sits under the N but engine temp is the same. I belkiev this is due to the sender being for a 90/110 but still retaining the series gauge.

The question is if i fit a series sender, will it make the gauge more accurate to the engine?

You need to fit the right sender for the gauge you have to get an accurate reading.

So yeah change the na one for the series one or swap the series gauge for a defender one

Okay thought as much, heard the ones running tdi get issues and wondered if the same thing was causing mine to be a bit funny.

Thanks Flat :)
