Temp gauge not moving

Ive noticed that the temp gauge needle on the dash doesnt move off the lowest reading, infact it doesnt move at all. Coolant levels remain normal with no noticable faults to how it drives.

Is this likely to be caused by a faulty thermostat?

Either that or the wires popped off the sensor.

Ill have a look at that tomorrow, thanks.

Is the wire/sensor easy to locate. Actually, I got a Haynes manual for xmas so perhaps I should put it to the test.
