When I bought my current Discovery 2 Td5 it already had a after market cd player in it which works well. I want the steering wheel controls to work which werent compatible with the one I had, so I have bought a new compatible one to fit in it with all the relevant leads. Took the existing one out today and found a module at the back of the din fitting with "Alpine audio and satellite navigation" on it and the model number xqg.000010. with a white iso type plug coming out of it and and a 3.5mm jack like a headphone one.

I have been searching all day and can find no trace of this part or in fact what it is for? has anybody else seen this and if so can somone shed light on it? I have no idea what system was fitted to it from new I just know it was not the Harman Kardon/high line set up as the extra speakers are not fitted, mine appears to be the mid line set up.

Thanks in advance.....

Thats certainly a possibilty not sure why you would take that out and replace it with a not so great bottom range Pioneer unit... still each to their own!

Ive replaced it now with an Alpine (not OEM) unit and a welcome return to my steering wheel controls.

Thanks for your reply David, it is greatly appreciated.
