i bought my td5 90 with 80k on the clock and i have now done 5k in it should i get it serviced thanks

depends when it was done before you had it , but be a good idea anyway then you know where you stand (dont quote me but think its suppose to be every 6k )

i service mine twice a year regardless how many miles i do (on average do less than average milage 10/12k)
if i had the time/cash would change the oil 4 times a year (can change it too much in a dizel imoa)

I change my engine oil and filters every 3k miles and my fuel filters every 6 months. I picked up a 45 gallon drum of genuine Castrol GTX 10w-40 at a receivers sale for £45+vat. While I'm at it I check air filter and oil levels in transmission and axles. I change the transmission and axle oils every year which is probably overkill but its my choice. I use cheap non branded oils from my local farm supply depot for the axles and gearboxes. £40 for a 25 litre drum of EP90 or ATF. Even cheaper if you buy a 200 litre drum. Other than that I keep an eye on things from week to week and do things as they need doing. Check and top up antifreeze, grease props, etc. That way I get to know my motor and quickly identify when something is not right.
The oil I drain out gets filtered and reused as fuel which is an added bonus.
