TD5 Overheat

Hello I have a 2000 reg TD5 09 which has been remapped i have recently noticed that if im on a motorway at 60 mph all is well but if i do 70 it slowly starts overheating and the needle creeps up to the red. does anyone have any ideas? Also when doing around 70 in every ten minutes it makes a quiet bonging sound from the dash what it this warning me of? Thanks in Advance Paul

What type of remap did you get? Could be overfueling. Does your exhaust/turbo manifold glow red in the dark after a fast run?
Is your radiator clear (inside and out)? Fan turning okay? Thermostat opening?
TD5s dont like overheating and it can lead to cracks in the cylinder head diluting the engine oil with diesel. You need to get to the bottom of this sharpish before it gets expensive.

the warning noise is a sound warning you that you should have got a tdi instead

Have you got a bigger intercooler to compliment the fuel map?

If so, is it blocking the main rad? or of not, is the engine (As has been said above) overfuelling or just running at the limits of the current tune? (my Td5 has a 170bhp tune, and i can cane it all day, the temp guage doesn't move at all)

The bong? there's certainly nothing that LR fitted that "bongs", maybe a previous owner? some kind of door warning that's semi connected and a wire is touching somewhere?

Over heating is bad very bad get it looked at sooner rather than later. I paid 1000 euros for a head gasket and head skim last Christmass after leting it over heat for no more than 30 seconds proberly only 15.
