TD5 Oil Rotor Filter Bolts

hi all, all of the TD5 vehicles I've had the previous owner(s) had stripped the threads in the centrifugal oil filter housing cover meaning I've always had to fiddle around with small nuts and bolts at awkward angles. I've just treated myself to a second hand housing that hasn't been threaded.

Question is do these normally have fully or partially threaded bolts?

Mine appear to be partially threaded as they undo enough to remove the cover but don't come fully out - is that normal?
