Hi everyone hope someone can help !
im doing up a 2002 td5 double cab, and its been starting and running fine for last 3 weeks although not driven it as waiting for parts.
Last couple of days i turn the key and get clicking from starter and nothing else, sometimes it does start ok.
Today turn key and only got 3 red lights up on the dash, oil light, brake , and another i cant think of right now !!, but no yellow lights glow plugs etc and i couldnt hear the fuel pump at all, still clicking sometimes and others it does turn over but thats it!
Have checked all fuses and are all ok, there are three relays under drivers seat two yellow one black, the middle one which is yellow sometimes clicks fast ! Everything else seems to be working lights etc.
Has anyone any idea?? the only thing ive done today is put front axle on and changed inner and outer wings on drivers side. Help !!!

Been reading some of the td5 wont start threads and alot of them say about the fuel pump, well yes mine was pumping this morning but not this afternoon, and that doesnt account for the dash lights not working ??

Read that and yes might account for the clicking/clunking of solinoid, but did take off solinoid wires and clean them, but i dont understand why im not getting glow plug light and engine light thingy only oil, batt and brake all red no yellow ones and fuel pump not working ???

take cover off solenoid 3x 8mm headed bolts pull out plunger check that and 2 x contacts inside needs to be done from underneath

The immobiliser stops the starter from cranking and the fuel pump pumping. Have you got a good battery in your fob? If its no good the proximity sensor can not "see" the fob and wont disengage the immobiliser. Its got nothing to do with pushing any of the fob buttons.

There is no fob, just a key !!!

if relay clicks fatst it means that whatever it powers isnt using it,like when headlight bulbs fail you can often hear relay clicking quickly

Ok Shifty was right ish the seat box its self wasnt earthed properly, so now thats sorted. next prob is ive changed the fuel filter today and must have air in the system as it ran for a while then i turned it off and now wont start again grrr!

mine use to do that, it was a dodgy connection on the blue loom pug next to the ecu.

put the ignition on, twiddle with the blue connector. if the pump fires up then it'll need to be re jioned

put the ignition on, push down the accelorator pedal 5 times, the pump light will flash constantly and purge the system automatically.

when finished start with the pedal flat down.

Just done that, how long do you turn it over for ?
My battery is going flat so have put it on charge, so will try again in the morning.
Does it need bleeding more than once ?
