TD5 Key fob receiver

I think the key fob receiver on the dash has given up. I've done some searching but not found how to replace it. Do I have to strip the whole dash, or does it just pop out the top???

The receiever is in the roof lining

I wrote an alarm attachment which is a sticky at the top of the disco page , worth a read.

The key fob receiver on a D2 is on the roof near the rear sunroof

Oh! That's a surprise. Yes Discovery 2 TD5. So what is the little round smoked red/black round thing in the middle of the dash just under the windscreen then????

The little thing in the middle of the dash, right under the windscreen is a "sunlight sensor" for a part of the digital aircon system.
