Hi All,

On Saturday I became the VERY proud owner of my first Land Rover, a 2003 Disco 2 TD5. Absolutely love it already however I have noticed that the clutch pedal is quite heavy, I realise it is a big heavy vehicle and I shouldnt expect the clutch to operate like that of a hatchback but is there any way to reduce the amount of effort required to depress the clutch pedal? (Ive got bad knees and i think prolonged driving in traffic etc is going to make it play up!)

I have read a couple of things about adding an additional spring or a servo (seem very expensive) but can't find much detail on the subject.

Also, to pre-empt some responses, yes, this is the only Landy I have driven so cannot provide any comparisons :(

Any views and advice would be very much appreciated!

All the best,

Toby
(Proud new Landy owner:D)

Where you based buddy?
If a heavy duty clutch has been fitted they can be heavy. Also if there is some corrosion or similar on the moving/sliding parts of the input shaft splines it can make it heavier. Try a clutch fluid change and make sure its topped up ok.
My clutch is heavier than previous disco I had I think it is just a heavier pressure plate with beefier springs. My missus struggles to press it but you get used to it.
