td5 hard starting

hey guys im new on the forum i purchased a defender 110 with a td5, its was a as is deal it has an hard starting problem sometimes it fires right up and sometimes its dosent the computer was replaced injector harness and crank sensor no change , i had a compression test done all cylinders showed 300 psi so the engine seems mechanically sound once its starts it runs fine can anyone offer any help im getting desperate thanks a million

just spoke to the previous owner he also replaced the glow plugs

i checked them myself with a voltmeter hooked up they all glowed and had proper voltage

I was gonna say is the fuel gelling in the cold weather but thought better of it

not even close to zero tropical climate year round the engine tumbles fine but just wont start if i walk away and try after a while it may or may not start

read alot of guys saying ground cable or even a bad starter drawing to much amperage ??? they are saying it may affect the voltage to the computer ????

did the places you took it to have a LR specific brain or was it just a generic fault reader ?

use a jump lead from the ov on the battery to the engine block then - that'll eliminate that

i actually took it to our local landrover dealership as well as an independent landrover repair shop both had land rover diagnostic tool
