hi all other landy owners. i have a problem my dealer pointed out to me with reguards to a fuel leakage from the fuel presure regulator which is situated infront of the driver to the right of the motor.theres a small pool of diesel after parking for a while and i can see where its coming from but cant get to it. can you tell me if i attack the problem from the top of the car or the underside. also can these be repaired or is it a replacement job???? if the job need to be tackled from the top it looks like i need to remove a few other parts to get to it. is there any easy way??????????????

Its a replacement part I am affraid. Depending on what year your TD5 is depends what fuel pressure regulator you require. Upto & including part of 2001 is a single rubber pipe regulator then after 2001 its a two rubber pipe regulator, both a around the same price 80-100 from landy dealer. Don't forget to buy a new metal gasket.
I replaced mine from both top & bottom, you could make things slightly easier by removing the starter, this makes access a good bit better. You need to remove the rear lifting eye from the cylinderhead to gain access at the top. I managed to replace mine without taking the starter out, but access is tight.

Hope this helps

just done mine removed starter and done from top and bottom put new one on leaked more than old one p...ed of to say the least striped old one their is two rubber o rings in them replaced and put back on perfect a10p fix new one groved inside causing fuel to pour out would rather spend 10 p as £100 worth a go now the grief getting money back of paddocks

Just read this AFTER replacing my starter motor, which was a bit of a bugger...

My FPR appears to be leaking a bit... could this have caused my starter solenoid to fail?

The leak isn't enough to leave a spot on the floor... which is why I haven't had a go at the FPR yet...

can be done without removing the housing, undo circlip and takeout unit, either replace o rings or if regulator is shot you can get a new regulator, 4 bar pressure regulator from an audi dealer. it fits perfectly and lasts longer ....

i actually order them from the uk trough my landy parts suplier here, we run 27 defender td5s converted in to game viewers, got a couple more tricks up my sleave. ill get numbers and post later
