I'm having one of those 10min jobs on my disco 2.
Trying to replace fuel filter housing as it's all porous and leaky but can't get the bloody plastic connectors off 3 of the 4 brass pipes. On top of that I've rounded one of the bolts securing the unit to the chassis trying to crack them off. Any advice guys? I'm in willenhall in the black country if anyone fancies having a go, can provide tea/coffee/beer lol

Cheers sorry about that

So to recap I'm trying to replace the fuel filter housing, still cant get 3 of the 4 plastic fuel line connectors off and have got 1 rounded bolt head and 1 'captive' nut spinning freely on chassis mount.
I'm putting it back together I've had enough for now but if anyone has got any advice or tips it would be greatly appreciated.
Also if there is anyone nearby who wouldn't mind coming and having a look (not neccessarily today i know the weathers too nice to be f***ing about on other peoples cars) if they think they can help me out I would be very grateful as well.

remove the rubber dust cap covering the quick release connectors....push the two tabs in on the quick connector, push forward slightly and then the fuel pipe will release

Yeah I got the one off and understand how they work, they move forward slightly and I can twist them side to side but they just won't budge. Gave them a good clean up and even tried a shot of penetrating spray to clear any sh*t no joy. I've out it back together now and it's just weeping from the red covered connector. At the union between the brass pipe and the filter head

Sorted this, got some fancy pliers for the connections, drilled out the rounded bolt head then got a spanner at the back of the bracket. Wire brush and paint the bracket and surrounding chassis leg and replaced nuts and bolts with stainless, nylocks and big washers. Got the replacement Mahle filter head from jgs4x4 £110.

Did it come with the non return and air bleed valve in it?

Iirc , Paddocks are cheaper for the same part.

Cheers
Yeah all present and correct in the right holes as well, trust me I double checked :D worked out the same once postage from paddocks was added I got free postage nothing in it really mate :)

OK, fair enough, not sure why you would pay for postage from paddocks as it is over £60. but hey ho, it is not that much difference.

Sure I got to checkout and reckoned it up but may well be mistaken. Job done anyway glad to not be dripping diesel on the roads :)

Cheers
