I have a 01 disco td5. Only done 25k miles. Has been burning oil for some time now , but only when idling. If I stop and then move of I get a small cloud of oil smoke . Clears as the revs rise. Burns about litre in 1000 miles. A young mechanic from a main dealer I met at an airshow said it could be caused by leaking injector seals . What do are forum experts think? I have a 93 200tdi which uses no oil between changes, which I do at 3000 miles! kenf

Hi it could be the seals on the injectors but you would loose power and hear a ticking,LR dont use fully syn oil they use semi syn oil so it could be a bit thin they dont normally burn oil so i would get it checked out, tiga.
