TD5 burned fuel pump relay

Any ideas as to why this has happened to my fuel pump relay would be appreciated.

Also, would it have anything to do with why my TD5 is very sluggish up hill until it has really warmed-up?

Does anyone know the relay and relay socket part number, so I can replace it?

It's obvious - burned out. Could be a loose connection on that contact. For the relay, just search ebay for Ford (or Land Rover) yellow relay and you'll find some with the same part no.
 
Yup, that relay has to work quite hard coping with the current draw of the pump, so consider it a wear item like a windscreen wiper or brake pad. Very probably the pump itself will be fine. In replacing it, check that the pins on the new one are wired the same way as the old one - sometimes they differ in terms of which ones are for the coil and which carry the main load.
 
So, I ordered a YWB10012L and it appears to be wired differently to the one currently in my Defender - see second photo in my first post.
Are you sure it's the correct one?
Another source has told me that it might be YWB10027L??
