TD4 no throttle

Freelander lost power in drive to work, got towed home

it’s a 2004 td4 with the m47 engine

no engine light or codes showing
Noticed intercooler hoses sucking flat
Engine will idle but not rev

replaced the hoses and the turbo solenoid

but still have the issue

any ideas gratefully appreciated
 
Have you tried unplugging the MAF sensor, so is the FL1 in limp mode ? it will drive but not get over 20 MPH or does it not drive at all cuts out etc.
 
If the boost pipes are being sucked flat, then there a blockage somewhere, which could include the seized turbo.
 
It will only idle, will not rev enough to allow it to be driven

After changing the turbo solenoid it did start and rev up, the turbo was spooling, switched off and tried it 5 minutes later and back to square one

no engine lights or codes being given either

If the boost pipes are under a vacuum, then there's a problem with the boost pipes collapsing, or the turbo has seized, or a mouse or rat has made a home in the air intake trunking, and blocked the MAF sensor.

Try removing the elbow boost pipe at the EGR valve, and see if it then revs up. ;)

Hi, yeah it will, sometimes it will rev when all pipes are connected too, I suspect the turbocharger has seen better days, it’s as if it’s not generating enough pressure

what do you reckon?
 
Hopefully this is the issue, pipe from the turbo to the intercooler pipe seems to have delaminated in the inside

new one on order, I’ll update if it’s a fix

So, the pipe was the issue, all up and running again , for anyone else having similar issues check the rubber pipe that exits the turbocharger, I now have some new sensors and other pipes as a bonus also
