injector removal which method worked for you ?

i have been here before i have removed a set of injectors on my old engine but this engine which replaced the one with the broken crank now requires the injectors taking out and replacing, (they are tight)
i have tried pulling them out with a piece of studding pulling on the top piece of the injector using several pieces off wood 4x2, all that happened was after applying a lot of pressure ( big bang) i pulled out the top of the injector ,

so after reading a few posts,i have plans A, B, and C
plan A,- lots of easing fluid leaving them to soak, then slackening off the studd nuts a little at a time and cranking the engine
plan B- using the top nut of the injector make up a slide hammer
plan C- making a puller using a 4 ton hydraulic jack and studding and jack them out.

what has worked for you ,or do you have and other ideas ?

I did have to remove some stubborn ones Saturday just gone though from a cold engine and then I had to use my slide hammer, they were really tough but managed them with the help of my son on the slide hammer while I used the prise bar.

hi Arctic2 thanks for your reply and the great pics, those injectors you removed look like they didnt come out easily, is that slide hammer part of a kit or a home made one, i have just made one up but looking at the one you have im not sure if its going to have enough umph,

Hi John.
The cold ones which had been left for quite a while were very stubborn indeed, the slide hammer is a kit I purchased a while back very useful, link below
