So - in the interests of protecting all you lot from harm I post my experience of yesterday !

Carried out work on the water pipes - see another thread - to blank off the EGR cooler and remove a bust pipe and load of failure points.
Ran engine and looked for leaks - all good, noticed dripping from fuel filter outlet. Must have dislodged clip in connector whilst leaning into the engine bay thinks I. The 'OBVIOUS' solution was to push it back square and stop the leak. Who would not have done that!?!?

Pushed it in straight and the pressure forced the connector right out and sprayed my face with diesel - nice.

No harm done, my H&S eyewash system was to hand (o.k it was the hose in the garden!) but the clip is a really bad design. The plastic clips that hold it in place have lost their springyness and it can be pulled out with almost no force. I have put it back in and made a thin wedge to force the retainers into their holding slots until it can be replaced.

Anyone know where to get one??

Just a heads up and maybe a smile at my expense.

END...........

HI Andy
Drop me a PM and I will ping over my email or you can drop me your full name and address in the PM, I will get one sent out to you, is it the one from the fuel pump to the filter, or the one from the filter to the HPFP I have the later for sure, I may have the other but need to check, presuming the ones off the R40 M47 will fit the FL.
